An Expanded and Enhanced International ICT Awards Philippines for 2020
The Canadian Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines (CanCham) announced on September 23rd that the 14th annual International ICT Awards Philippines to be held on 2 April, 2020 at the Marriott Grand Ballroom in Pasay City and that the 2020 event will be expanded in scope with enhanced judging procedures.

The theme for the 2020 International ICT Awards Philippines is Transcending Excellence.

The official endorsements recognizing the ICT Awards will be continued
The prestigious endorsements in 2018 by the Department of Information Communications and Technology (DICT), Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA), and National ICT Confederation of the Philippines (NICP) in 2019 assured the stature of the ICT Awards as the premier ICT Awards program in the Philippines. Repeat official endorsements from these three entities will be sought as well as additional official endorsements by two international organizations supporting ICT development.

An Internationally recognized ICT expert has been appointed as Independent Professional Adviser for the event. Mr. Mon Ibrahim, former DICT Undersecretary, will be the Senior Adviser for the 2020 ICT Awards.

The importance of sustainability has been added as a relevant judging criteria for all awards
Support to the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs) has been incorporated in the judging criteria for all categories and A Third Premier Award will be added for the Best Company Contributing ICT Services for Sustainable Development in the Philippines.

A major expansion of award categories has been launched for 2020
In addition to continuing the Premier and the Select Category Awards, the scope of the ICT Awards has been  expanded significantly to include Industry Sector Awards for the best companies using ICT services in a range of major industrial sectors.

Industry associations will be invited to be Partners for the new Industry Sector Awards
In recognition of the wider ICT sector coverage, industry associations will be invited to be Sector Partners to support and publicize the Sector Awards in the upcoming year.

Eligibility criteria for the Premier Awards has been made more challenging
To be eligible for a Premier Award, companies must be nominated for and be a Finalist for at least one of the Select Category or Sector Awards. They must also need to have been in operation in the Philippines for at least three years.

The judging process has been enhanced with a separate verification stage by an Independent Compliance Officer
The highly respected and objective judging process will be augmented with a preliminary independent Verification Stage to ensure that information in the nominations matches the eligibility criteria and that all information needed is complete and confirmed before a nomination is submitted for adjudication by the Judging Panel. An Independent Compliance Officer will be retained to conduct the verification process.
